Table Care & Maintenance Instructions

General Cleaning for Tabletops

To maintain the beauty and longevity of your handcrafted tabletop, follow these care guidelines:

  • Daily Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth with mild dish soap and water. Most general-purpose wood cleaners are acceptable, but always test in an inconspicuous area first.
  • Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Do not use cleaners containing ammonia, degreasers, bleach, or abrasives.
  • UV Finish Only: Some cleaners may leave a film on UV-finished surfaces. If this occurs, use a cleaner like Fantastik or 409 to remove buildup.
  • Spill Management: Clean spills immediately to prevent water damage. Avoid excessive moisture on wood surfaces.
  • Prevent Scratches & Damage:
    • Do not use abrasive plates, cups, or utensils.
    • Be mindful of items with rough bottoms, such as sugar caddies or decorations.
  • Environmental Considerations:
    • Avoid placing tables in direct sunlight or near heat sources (e.g., fireplaces, vents).
    • Maintain a stable temperature and humidity level to prevent expansion or contraction.
  • Outdoor Use: Tops are designed for indoor use unless specifically stated as outdoor-rated.

📌 Note: Improper care will void the manufacturer’s warranty.

Cleaning by Material Type

Natural Stone (Quartzite, Granite, Marble)

  • Use neutral or slightly alkaline cleaners (pH 7).
  • Clean with a soft cloth.
  • Avoid products containing lemon, vinegar, or acids.
  • Stone surfaces are sealed upon delivery but should be resealed every 6–12 months.

Quartz

  • Clean with mild soap and water or neutral/slightly alkaline cleaners (pH 7).
  • Use a soft cloth.
  • No sealing required—quartz is non-porous.

Solid Surface (e.g., Corian)

  • Clean with mild soap and water or neutral/slightly alkaline cleaners (pH 7).
  • Ammonia-based cleaners (excluding window cleaners) are safe.
  • For disinfecting, use a diluted bleach solution (1 part bleach, 1 part water).
  • Solid surfaces do not require sealing and are completely non-porous.

Base Cleaning

Textured, Wrinkle, or Hammer-Tone Powder Coated Bases

  • Remove dirt with a soft-bristle dry brush.
  • For stubborn stains or grease marks, use a damp cloth with mild soap and water.

Polished Powder-Coated Bases

  • Wipe down with a damp cloth.
  • Use mild soap and water for tough stains.
  • If the finish is chipped, apply touch-up paint to prevent further damage and corrosion.
